FAQ

What if there is no rink showing on the map near me?

That probably means there isn't a participating rink hosting a try hockey event near you on Feb 20th. If you recieved information on a rink hosting a try hockey event near you, but you don't see it on the map, please contact them directly or email comeplayyouthhockey@usahockey.org.

Do I need a USA Hockey membership to Try Hockey?

No! During registration, you will fill out a waiver for the participant, this will ensure you are covered by USA Hockey for your try hockey event. You will recieve more information about a USA Hockey membership after your try hockey event.

Do we need our own hockey equipment to participate?

Most host locations will have loaner equipment, however, you are welcome to bring your own if you have it. Contact your host site directly for more information on equipment availability.

What if the participant has no hockey or skating experience?

That's great! We love introducing new players to the sport of hockey. Your athlete will be on the ice with certified coaches and instructors who are there to help players of all abilities and show them how FUN hockey is for everyone.

What if the participant is outside of the 4 to 9 age range?

Check with your local try hockey for free host site to see if they can accomidate players outside of the 4 to 9 age range.
