USA Hockey's Try Hockey For Free Days are designed to provide hockey associations with a national platform to introduce new kids to the sport. The dates for national youth try hockey events are Nov 4th, 2023 and Feb 24th, 2024. Traditionally this opportunity has been offered to children between the ages of 4 and 9, but you are welcome to customize your event for various disciplines and age categories. 

Facilities who wish to host a USA Hockey Try Hockey For Free event must intend to register their participants in a USA Hockey sanctioned program following a try hockey event. 

If your association is looking to host a Try Hockey For Free event on a date outside the National events, please select "Custom Event Date" in the Event Date field.

All Try hockey events will be vetted by USA Hockey’s Program Services team and you will be notified of approval or contacted for additional information.. Custom event dates are not eligible to receive giveaways from USA Hockey, however, you will still have access to marketing materials and national office support via the online portal. Custom event dates will utilize a direct registration link found in your host site portal for participant registration, as the events are not searchable on the map at www.TryHockeyForFree.com.
